Monthly Archives: October 2006….On a Roll!

Ballroom Balloons has passed a huge milesone. Last weekend marked our 25,000th job. It seems like only yesterday, we were delivering singing telegrams and small delivery bouquets; and, large decorating jobs were a rarity. This past weekend, our balloon crew, with help from Yasmin D’Souza of Events R Us, managed to decorate ten events! The new web-site and marketing program developed by a talented custom web designer and SEO Manager ( has helped Ballroom Balloons grow faster than ever before.

This week, with the help of the Howard University community, we will decorate The Howard University homecoming parade for the eighth consecutive year. On Saturday, October 14, Georgia Avenue will be glitzed up with celebrity guest host Mr. Ice Cube, several additional honored guests, and enough balloons to make Macy’s jealous. The parade will be led by our “World’s Smallest Parade Float”. And, that is it for the small stuff. Georgia Avenue will be decorated with huge spiral street arches, held extra high by “Cloud Buster” balloons (see: At ground level, it will be an all Hollywood theme with fifteen-inch wide film reel bunting decorating the street and encouraging the parade on-lookers to stay out of the street. There will be giant Oscar-like balloon statues, movie camera shaped balloons, and giant gold Megaloon “H’s”. And, that’s only the beginning. We will absolutely bathe the campus in balloons!

While Stan leads the Howard University balloon crew, other jobs continue including more homecomings, a Best Buy grand opening, a large security firm seminar, and the AARP’s kickoff for the Combined Federal Campain. So, we are busy, busy busy and we love it love it love it!
