It is always wonderful to return home. Of course, it would have been a bit sweeter if I was not leaving the Athens fire only to arrive at the Washington frying pan! That’s right folks, its going over 100 degrees Tuesday; so, don’t forget the sunblock. I can, of course, take the heat in stride; but, whoa to my poor balloons. High heat and humidity are the greatest enemy to balloons (Please see www.BallroomBalloons.com/faq.html) So, what’s to do:
Tomorrow, I have a party to decorate at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce across from the White House. The best thing I can do to protect the balloons (which must be inflated and delivered before going from MD to DC) is to start by inflating the balloons a few hours before leaving, so they get a chance to “settle”. Next, all balloon arrangements will be bagged in specialized balloon bags to protect them from humidity and dirty air. Finally, and most importantly, I must “pre-cool” my delivery van by shuttering the blinds and running the front and rear air conditioning for twenty minutes before loading the balloons. And, just to be safe, I drive right up to my door to load; and, I park right near my destination door so the balloons arrive with all their luster intact.
Despite the heat, its a great feeling to come back from a week of being away to a full slate of parties and deliveries. My most loyal Clients seemed comfortable to wait for me to return from Ballooniversity to take care of their balloon and Helium needs (Please see www.BallroomBalloons.com/rentals.html).
